John Corcoran
John was born in 1940 in Nelson, Lancashire and has been drawing and painting since he was quite young. His father, who was a professional sign writer and portrait painter, was the artist’s teacher of drawing and brush techniques. At the age of 14 he attended the Manchester Secondary Technical School of Art, where he studied for two years.
His oil paintings include Landscapes, Seascapes, Animal Studies and Wildfowl scenes. The artist’s originals are now reproduced by the country’s leading Art Publications as Fine Art Prints and Greeting Cards.
John’s work to date is wholly in private collections, however John, who recently visited our galleries in Hawkshead and Grasmere has come out of retirement and is now painting exclusively for us and we are honoured to be able to offer his wonderful paintings that bring a nostalgic sentimentality of a bygone era.
