Edward H Thompson

Edward H Thompson (1879-1949) is widely regarded as one of the greatest Lakeland artists of his generation working in watercolour to capture the natural beauty of the ever changing landscapes of his native Cumbria.

Born in Seaton he initially worked as an office clerk in the nearby Workington steelworks painting in his spare time before he turned professional and opened a studio in Cockermouth. Today his works are considered highly collectible and adorn many private and public galleries.
